We are Kasia and Clare — two language teachers who met in a Basque class in San Sebastián three years ago. We instantly clicked over our shared love of languages and learning.
We both grew up in bilingual environments and spent years teaching different languages — until we both arrived at the same realisation: Spanish was where our hearts were.
That's how Poquito Español was born — a place where our friendship and passion for teaching come together. We wanted to create a space where learning Spanish feels natural, joyful, and completely free from the fear of making mistakes.
Growing up between two languages, Kasia always sensed that words were more than a tool — they were a way of belonging. That feeling stayed with her when she became a teacher, and it shapes everything she brings to the classroom. She designs original materials, adapts to each student's pace, and makes it her mission to replace anxiety with genuine curiosity.
For her, the best moment in a class is when a student stops worrying about mistakes and simply starts speaking.
Clare teaches Spanish the way she wishes she had been taught: in real, flowing conversations rather than rigid exercises. Her classes are practical, warm, and tailored — because she knows that no two learners are the same.
She pays close attention to what motivates each student, what slows them down, and what finally makes things click. The relationship between teacher and student, she believes, is where real progress begins.
